How do I convince my parents to let me date?

So my friends tell me next time I see my best guy friend that he's gonna ask me to be his boyfriend. My mom has said that in high school I could date and I am going to be in high school. It's the summer b4 high school so yeah I think I should be able but my mom says she has to "talk about it with my dad" and then with me. So what can i say to convince them to let me have a boyfriend?
